The Palia Beta commonly asked Questions – Answered!

Palias most commonly asked questions answered

The new MMORPG Palia, by the development team of Singularity Six, is finally in its public beta stage. Palia brings out a unique mix of social gaming, skill training, and endless exploration. With only a fraction of the total content, thousands of eager participants go wild over the game, exploring together. Meet the villagers, earn gold, and decorate your own homestead in the new wonderful world of Palia.

However, as with every beta stage, numerous issues are popping up, and the Palia community raises many questions. In this series of articles, AceGameGuides hopes to help answer some of your questions and bring solutions and workarounds for various issues awaiting their fixes.

Below are several of the most commonly asked questions in the Palia world chat, and community discord, and the answers to them.

Question: Is there Fast Travel in Palia?

Yes, there are several options for Fast Traveling in the Palia world. The two most common options include the Home Teleport fast travel, which players can access by opening the World map (M) and using the top-right Return to Home button. While this form of travel is free, it has a thirty-minute real-time cooldown.

The second common option, which most players seem unaware of, is the Fast travel through the Signs of Palia. Several Signs are available throughout the two main maps of the Palian world, with the cost increasing from 25 to 100 gold based on the distance you want to travel. To access this, simply visit any of the Stables and use the Fast Travel option at the sign located at the entrance.

Question: Are there Mounts in Palia?

As of now, there are no Mounts in Palia. However, these are coming soon™.  The developers confirmed Mounts are coming in Palia’s future, both as premium function and for free users. These pets will likely become available through the currently empty Stables, which for now function as fast-travel points.

Question: Can I swim in Palia?

No! At this point in Palia’s development, there is no option to swim yet in Palia. That said, there are several areas where players can walk through the shallow waters and rivers where players can collect shells, oysters, and crabs. However, the developers have suggested that Swimming is something they want to add further in Palia’s development. For now, the user simply returns to their last land location if they go too deep into the water.

Question: My friend is in a different server, can I switch servers to join him?

Yes, kind of. For now, the feature is limited to playing with friends by using the server synq feature. However, there is no option yet to choose your server.

Question: I cannot purchase Crafting Permits from City Hall despite the game telling me to. How do I fix this problem?

To purchase additional Crafting Permits for your Homestead, you must first complete your Home. As building your home requires eight hours of real-world time, your home is likely not yet finished by the time you reach this point of the Beta. To fix the problem, simply take a moment to explore the world of Palia while your house is under construction, then the required quest options will show up, unlocking the shop that sells the Crafting Permits at City Hall.

Question: I cannot progress Jel’s Style Tip quest, despite placing a Wardrobe on my plot. How do I fix this?

The solution to this minor bug in the beta is simple, use your wardrobe and change your hairstyle (or another part of your character), which you can change back immediately after if you wish. This action checks that your wardrobe exists where it needs to, allowing you to progress the quest. The developers know this bug, so a fix should arrive soon enough.

Question: Help! I can’t pick up the Treasure Chests I placed on my lot. How do I fix this?

There is currently a bug with several of the Treasure Chest types that cause them to be unable to be moved or removed from your plot. The developers are working hard to fix this, but there is currently no known workaround to the problem. For now, avoid placing any type of Treasure Chest on your plot, as this may restrict your progress for a time.
