Not much has changed since the recent balance update in the Standard Hearthstone format. The Warrior class remains popular for players to climb but falls off heavily near the top-legend ranks. Both the aggressive and control variants of the Questline decks find a significant amount of success after the latest nerfs to Warlock. Interestingly, despite the lower play rate, the Big Warrior archetype is Warrior’s best-performing style.

The latest nerf to the Warlock class finally seems to succeed at reducing Warlock’s strength. Its play rate dropped massively over the past week, and all Warlock tribes see a significant loss in win rate. There is honestly not much good to say about Priest in the current meta. The class loses to all the most popular decks. The most popular Priest archetype, Questline Priest, has a 42.1% win rate over a sample of over 1700 matches and fails to find a single positive matchup. Despite all these stats from the average Hearthstone player, the archetype is a popular choice in the top-legend ranks, making 18.4%, despite an overall play rate of only 5%.
Like Shaman, Paladin is a solid ladder class that just can’t find success in the top-legend ranks. The class currently maintains two popular archetypes, Libram and Handbuff Paladin, which sit among the highest winrates in the current meta at #4 and #3. Despite the massive success at the diamond to legend ranks, the class doesn’t find representation in the top-legend ranks. Paladin is a fantastic choice for most of us to climb some ranks on the Hearthstone ladder, even if it doesn’t suit the top-legend meta.
The Mage class takes the #1 spot in popularity this Datadecks. With 16.9% of all decks featuring the Mage class. Despite its immense play rates, the deck is similarly absent from the top-Legend ranks. The Questline Mage archetype outperforms the Hero Power Mage Archetype, with a 7.4% difference in their overall win rate. Unsurprisingly, with the Mage Class’ popularity, the Questline Mage deck also takes the #1 spot in terms of popularity. With nearly 12000 recorded games, the deck’s popularity reaches significantly beyond any other deck in the United in Stormwind meta.

Compared to previous reports, the Hunter class seems less successful than in previous weeks. One of the reasons for the change is the increased popularity of the Druid class, which has a positive matchup into both of the Hunter class’ popular decks. However, Hunter is far from gone as both its Questline Hunter and the Face Hunter archetype remain at the top of the standings in terms of win rate and popularity. The Questline Hunter archetype seems stronger in the current metagame, looking at the slightly higher winrate.

Easily the biggest winner of the continued nerfs to the Warlock class is Druid. The Druid class takes #2 in terms of overall popularity, with 14.7% of all decks in the current meta. Surprisingly, the Druid class’ most popular and most successful archetype is Aggro Druid. Aggro Druid has by far the highest win rate of any deck since the recent balance changes, at 58.4%. The 58.4% number may seem extreme, but that comes from a sample of over 10,000 recorded games. The archetype is taking over, so you better get ready.
While Demon Hunter often finds success in the Standard Hearthstone Meta, the Deathrattle Demon Hunter deck does seem to be quite the outlier. After the nerf to the other Demon Hunter archetype(s), the Deathrattle archetypes seem to be the way to go. With the second-highest winrate at 56.5%, the deck is performing. However, for now, the class remains in the middle of the pack in terms of popularity. How the archetype’s win rate adjusts as more people try the archetype remains to be seen.
