How to get and use Kindling in Palworld

Palworld how to get Kindling

The new open-world survival game, Palworld, launched into early access today on Steam. As everyone starts to explore the wonders of Palworld, many questions come up for new players of Palworld that need answering. While the game has a helpful introduction and in-game guiding system, some things are complex and hard to find.

One such uncertainty is information on the Crafting and Working Systems in Palworld. While the system is easy to understand once you get the basics, some things aren’t immediately obvious. Like for example, Kindling. What is it, how do you get it, how do you use it? These are all valid questions, so let’s talk about them.

How to get Kindling in Palworld

As you play through Palworld’s introduction quests, several stations require you to use Kindling to use these. For example, to cook on a Campfire or to power your forge to create charcoal or bars for Nails and other tool stations. Before you go off and try to find Kindling in the wilderness, the answer is much simpler. To get Kindling, you only need to put one of your Fire Pals to work at your camp. Kindling, after all, isn’t an item but a job for one of your Pals.

The easiest Pal to obtain for Kindling is the fiery fox, Foxparks. There are several spawns for Foxparks just down the mountain from your first starting location, and they are available to catch during both the day and night cycles. To catch one, players must attack one until it is at low health and then throw a Pal Shere (Q). Their catch rate is slightly higher than the other early-game Pals, but adding one to your team won’t be much trouble.

In addition, Foxparks also grants the player a permanent torch to use during cold nights, providing both heat and light, making it the perfect Pal for the start of your adventure.
