League of Legends: Your questions Answered

The popular game League of Legends is explored, addressing questions about mobile versions, lore connection, and gameplay intricacies.

With the popularity of League of Legends worldwide, it’s no surprise that people have questions about all aspects of the game and its universe. Today, we’re answering many questions collected from various League of Legends communities and players. 

League of Legends and Mobile Legends – Are they the same game or from the same developer?

No. Mobile Legends is a knock-off of League of Legends, copying many of the game’s characters and abilities. The mobile version of League of Legends is League of Legends: Wild Rift.

League of Legends and Arcane connection – How do the two relate to each other?

The connection between League of Legends and Arcane is easy to understand. The show is based on the lore of the League of Legends universe and features several of the champions from the game in its story. In addition, later this year, we’ll see one of Arcane’s popular characters join the game with the introduction of Ambessa Medarda. 

Is League of Legends hard to learn? No, and Yes. The game League of Legends is incredibly easy to play at first, but there are endless things you can learn and practice to improve. 

What are League of Legends-like Mobile Games? Do I have some good news for you, League of Legends has a mobile game, called League of Legends: Wild Rift that is perfect for you. 

What are League of Legends-like Games? Many other multiplayer online battle arena games, also known as MOBAs, exist. Aside from League of Legends, the most popular ones include Smite and Dota 2. 

League of Legends – can you buy Mythic Essence? Yes, again, sort of. You can’t directly purchase mythic essence, but you can purchase the League of Legends battle pass or loot boxes to obtain more mythic essence if there is a skin you wish to unlock. 

League of Legends – can you skip the tutorial? Yes, unless you select you are a new player when first logging into the game. You can leave the tutorial when you want to now. 

League of Legends – can you demote from (Rank) to (Rank)? Yes. In the 2024 League of Legends ranked season, players can be demoted from any rank to the rank below, except for Bronze to Iron. However, rank demotions only happen when your MMR (matchmaking-rating) is a full ranked tier below your current visual rank. 

League of Legends – can you gift skins? Yes. Simply visit the Gifting Center in the League of Legends client. Note that you can only gift skins to players on your friend list. 

League of Legends – can you remove tokens? Yes. Tokens automatically expire two weeks after their associated event comes to an end. Alternatively, you can spend the tokens on blue essence or key fragments to not let them go to waste. 

League of Legends – can you change your username? Yes. Players can change their Riot ID through the in-client shop. To find the service, click on the “Account” button in the top-right corner of the shop window. No cost is currently associated, but this may change in the future. 

League of Legends – circle around champion??? This one confused us for a minute, but the circle around champion is, in fact, Garen, the Might of Demacia. 

Is League of Legends an MMO? No, League of Legends is not an MMO. However, the developers of League of Legends have been working on a League of Legends MMO for the past several years, which we expect to learn more about in 2026/27. 

Can League of Legends be played on phone? Yes, kind of? The actual game of League of Legends isn’t on mobile. However, League of Legends: Wild Rift can be! The game is the mobile and steamdeck variant of League of Legends and features many of the same champions and abilities. 

How many League of Legends champions are there? There are currently 168 champions in League of Legends as of the release of Smolder, the Fiery Fledgeling. 

What League of Legends season is it? It is currently season 14 of League of Legends. 

What League of Legends champion has the most skins? Three champions in League of Legends currently share the title at a staggering 19 skins each. These are Akali, Miss Fortune, and Lux. 

Will League of Legends make more shows? Yes, absolutely. The second season of Arcane is likely to be released later this year.
